Changelog
A character's change log now shows only the most recent 20 entries at first; a button underneath loads more when needed.
The character sheet responds noticeably faster when you type in values, especially for casters with many spell lists.
New profession: the Sword-Dancer is now available at character creation.
New training packages from the Mentalism Companion are now available to pick, including Beastmaster, Dream Traveller, Oracle and Sage.
Spell lists from training packages now land in the matching category: a list of a foreign realm sits with the other-realm lists instead of the own-realm ones.
Five new training packages from the Arcane Companion are available: Famulus, Manipulator, Necromancer, Runemaster and Warlock, plus the new skills Anatomy and Paper-making.
The spell list picker now also has the further open and closed Essence lists from the Essence Companion.
The spell list picker now has training package lists as a kind of their own, with the Essence lists from the Essence Companion. They go into the "Spells, Own Realm Training Package" row, or the "Spells, Other Realm Training Package" one when the list is of another realm.
Every page now loads faster. The start page only loads the tables for cultures, professions, training packages and books once you click that tab instead of upfront, and the contact form is only loaded when you open it.
Spell lists are now picked in a window of their own instead of one long dropdown: with a search, sections by profession and realm, a sourcebook page next to every list, and a confirmation before adding one. This also opens up the lists of other professions and other realms.
The Mentalism Companion's spell lists are in: the base lists of seer, astrologer, enchanter and armsmaster, plus the Mentalism training package lists. New characters of those professions get their six base lists right at creation.
Seer, Astrologer, Enchanter and Armsmaster are now complete: profession bonuses for the spell groups and the preset skill kinds are in. They no longer sit under "incomplete" in the profession picker.
The spell list picker now covers Essence, Mentalism and Arcane as well: every open and closed list plus the evil lists of those realms, each with its sourcebook page. Arcane lists are open to every caster, even outside their own realm.
The spell list picker now shows the realm once per section instead of on every list, and long rows no longer run into each other.
The skill groups "Spells, Own Realm Training Package" and "Spells, Other Realm Training Package" are available on the sheet again.
The "Witch" training package no longer hands out a fixed "Liquid/Gas" spell list, but a to-do to put 2 ranks into one of six matching liquid-or-gas lists. Ranks you already put in are kept as a spell list of your own that you can rename.
Wizard and Chaotic are now complete: their own base lists, profession bonuses and development costs. Both no longer sit under "incomplete" in the profession picker.
The Channeling realm's open, closed and evil spell lists can now be picked. More realms are coming.
The contact form now has an optional email field. If you'd like a reply, you can leave your address there – no account needed.
Picked spell lists now show their source-book reference next to their name.
Fix: When leveling up, the number of ranks purchasable per level is now capped for every development-cost chart, including charts with three or more values. Previously those allowed unlimited ranks in a single level.
New: On the "Available content" page's Books tab, you can now tick which sourcebooks you own — references then prefer the edition you actually have on your shelf. Without an account the selection is saved in your browser; logged in, it's saved on your account.
The progression curve and the attributes behind a skill group's bonus no longer sit on their own line under the group name — hover the bonus value to see them instead.
Will power is gone from the sheet, since it is not part of this rule system. The big tile row above it is gone: level, experience, soul power, recovery multiplier, armor type, realm of power and height now sit more compactly in the header, the armor table, or the character info.
The change list now shows the level as well. When you enter experience points, it tells you right
there whether the character gained a level, instead of leaving you to work it out from the points.Raising the level — directly or through the experience points — now asks whether to start development
mode. Decline and it stays out of the way; the button next to the development points still starts it
whenever you want.New feature: The character sheet can now be downloaded as a fully laid out PDF from the print dialog, with the sections you picked and in the language you're currently using. This mainly helps on phones and in browsers whose print function did not show the sheet properly, or at all.
Fixed: A sheet you may only look at — through a share link, or someone else's character as a game master — printed washed-out grey throughout, from the name down to every entered value. On paper it now comes out in full black.
The life, power and exhaustion point tiles now also show the penalty chart: for every point range you can see straight away which penalty applies once that many points are gone. The ranges are already worked out from your own maximums, so there is no percentage maths to do.
To-dos and group labels now read properly: “1 rank” instead of “1 rank(s)” and “1 skill” instead of “1 skill(s)” — singular and plural follow the actual number.
Temp values can now be entered below the character creation minimum — you just get asked to confirm. Previously the value was silently raised again, even though a re-roll can push it below that anyway.
Each stat in the stats table can now be unfolded to show every skill group that draws its bonus from it, cheapest first — clicking a group jumps to its row in the skill table. The list does not appear on a printed sheet.
Shared and read-only character sheets now let you use the to-do list, the armor table and the jump links as usual — nothing can still be changed.
On long pages a button appears in the bottom right corner that jumps back to the top of the page.
The base lists of your profession can now be deleted, and added back any time from the picker in the spell category, instead of sitting in the sheet for good. Also fixed: the "Animal Friend" and "Hunter" packages granted a rank in the "hiding" spell list instead of the "hiding" skill.
The spell categories now always sit at the end of the skill table, in a fixed order: own realm first (base list, open, closed, foreign base list), then the other realm, then arcane.
The Arcanist profession is now fully playable, including its base lists (Mana Law, Power Focus, Power's Master, Spell Shaping, Void Law, Wards).
Armor types in the armor table are now clickable and jump to their related skill. Skin/cloth, robe, light and heavy fur are marked "no armor" since they aren't real armor.
Body Development and Power Point Development now always sit at the top of the skill table, with a small gap before the rest of the groups.
The max Life Points and Power Points numbers are now clickable and jump to their skill group.
Armor skills (Soft Leather, Rigid Leather, Chain, Plate) now show a small line with the current and minimum penalty for each armor type they govern.
Training packages that call for one specific spell list now add it, with its ranks, to the matching group automatically — no manual step needed. When a package offers a choice between several lists, it still shows as a to-do, and those lists can now be added through a picker instead of being typed in as free text.
Skills with no ranks invested now appear dimmed in the table, so the skills you've actually put ranks into stand out more.
Renamed skills (ranks are kept): "Sleight of Hand" → "Trickery", "Mimic Sounds" → "Mimicry", "Mime" → "Mimery", "Improvised Poetry" → "Poetic Improvisation", "Storytelling" → "Tale Telling", "Endurance Running" → "Distance Running", "Endurance Climbing" → "Scaling", "Escape Artist" → "Contortions", "Falling" → "Diving", "Ice Skating" → "Skating", "Persuasion" → "Duping", "Operate Vehicle" → "Serve", "Trapping" → "Trapper", "Woodworking" → "Woodcrafts", "Leatherworking" → "Leathercrafts", "Metalworking" → "Metalcrafts", "Ropework" → "Rope Mastery", "Stoneworking" → "Stonecrafts", "Impressive Maneuver" → "Swashbuckling", "Weather Forecasting" → "Weather Watching", "Remove Stun" → "Stun Removal", "Berserking" → "Frenzy", "Photographic Memory" → "Mnemonics", "Street Smarts" → "Streetwise", "Make Contacts" → "Contacting", "Blend in with Crowd" → "Mingling", "Local Knowledge" → "Scrounging", "Map Drawing" → "Mapping", "Apply Prepared Herbs" → "Using Prepared Herbs", "Appraise Metal" → "Evaluate Metal", "Appraise Armor" → "Evaluate Armor", "Appraise Stone" → "Evaluate Stone", "Helmsmanship" → "Boat Pilot", "Appraise Weapons" → "Evaluate Weapon", "Diagnosis" → "Diagnostics", "Mechanics" → "Mechanition", "Sense Time" → "Time Sense", "Shadowing" → "Surveillance", "Detect Poison" → "Poison Perception", "Detect Lies" → "Lie Perception", "Examine Tracks" → "Reading Tracks", "Track" → "Tracking", "Find Hidden" → "Locate Hidden", "Detect Ambush" → "Sense Ambush", "Folklore (Own)" → "Race Lore (Own)", "Mathematics" → "Basic Math".
New feature: Rolling attribute and potential values now shows a small dice animation, with a brief popup showing which dice were rolled and the result.
The button next to the development points entry now shows its label next to the icon, and ends development mode when it's running. While development mode is running, two to-dos appear in the list: invest all your development points, then re-roll the temporary attribute values.
Penetrate Armor, Animal Mastery, Adrenal Stabilization, Control Lycanthropy, Trance Purification, Trance Death, Spatial Orientation and Perceive Reality are now restricted skills. On existing characters the rank type is filled in once, only where none was chosen yet.
New feature: One button now re-rolls all temp attribute values at once, instead of one at a time.
"Situational Awareness" is now called "Situational Awareness (General)" and is restricted, since the skill really has to be learned per kind. On existing characters the rank type is filled in once, only where none was chosen yet.
"Survival" is now called "Survival (Arctic)" — your ranks are kept — and newly added is "Survival (Desert)". Where "Survival" used to be granted outright, you now pick the environment yourself via a to-do.
Todos can no longer be ticked off by accident: checking one now asks for confirmation and shows the todo's text again. Unchecking still happens right away.
Ticked-off todos are now shown in a paler colour, so the open ones stand out more.
Todos that refer to a skill group or specific skills now show their names as links — clicking one jumps to the matching row on the sheet, briefly highlighted. Clicking the name of a popular skill jumps to its row as well.
New feature: characters in your account can be shared by link via the share button — other people can view the sheet without an account, but can't change anything. You can revoke the link or create a new one at any time.
Improved: the character name field at the top of the sheet was far wider than it needed to be – it now hugs the length of the name.
Skill groups on the character sheet are now sorted alphabetically and automatically re-sort when you switch language.
When creating a character, you can now pick any culture, not just the ones typical for the chosen race. Typical cultures still show up top in the list, with all others below under "Other cultures".
A profession now shows whether it is a non, semi, hybrid, or pure spell user – in the character creation form and in the professions reference table. The professions reference table is now sorted by spell user type, then by name, and the profession picker in character creation is grouped the same way.
New "Books" tab under "Available content": it lists every sourcebook the values on the sheet come from, with its language and — where known — the ISBN of the edition the page numbers refer to.
Restricted skills now only count whole half-ranks: an odd number of ranks is rounded down instead of counting half a rank, as the rules require.
The character list is easier to scan: the name now sits larger on its own line, with race, culture, profession and group below it, and the created/last saved dates on the line under that.
When the culture has the same name as the race, it is no longer shown twice in the character sheet's header.
Small change: The hint on foreign-language sourcebook references now actively asks for feedback via the Feedback form if you know where the passage is in the other language's book.
The Mage Hunter profession is now fully playable, including its base lists (Amplifications, Containing Ways, Hunter's Call, Power Lore, Spell Protection, Spell Tracker).
Sourcebook references now take the selected language into account: when a source is only known in German or in another language, a small "DE" hint tag next to "Available content" flags that, with an explanation and, where known, the matching editions.
Improvement: The training package picker is now grouped by Vocational/Lifestyle. After picking a
package, its source, duration and development point cost are shown right away.Picking a training package now also shows its type (vocational/lifestyle). For many professions, the picker also highlights which packages are typical for them.
Improvement: The English names of the training packages were previously auto-translated and have now been checked against the sourcebooks and corrected.
The training package picker now also highlights typical packages for the Summoner, Dervish, Warlock, Mythic Paladin, Warrior Mage, Runemage, Mana Molder and Mage Hunter professions. This selection was made by thematic fit rather than taken from an official source – feedback on it is welcome.
Text across the sheet is larger and easier to read, and now also follows your browser's font size setting. Printing is unchanged.
On the account page, passkeys and connected login providers (Discord, Google, Steam) now show when they were last used to log in. Passkeys also have a name now, which can be changed at any time.
The theme picker in the header is now a single icon button instead of a dropdown: one click cycles through Auto, Light and Dark, and the icon shows the active theme.
The inventory takes up much less room when printed: items are now grouped by storage location (the location is a heading with its total weight instead of being repeated on every row), the description sits under the item name and only when there is one, and the list prints in two columns.
New feature: A star next to a skill pins it to the "Popular skills" list at the top of the sheet, showing name, ranks and total bonus — can be switched off in the print settings.
Printing is now configurable: clicking the printer icon opens a dialog where you choose which parts of the sheet go on paper, plus a compact skill view for printing instead of the wide table. Everything stays visible and editable on screen as before.
Three skills were renamed: "Sneaking" is now "Stalking", "Use Magic Item" is now "Attunement" and
"Sense Magic" is now "Power Perception". Ranks and bonuses you already entered carry over
automatically.
New feature: You can now change your login name in the Account area (once every 30 days). The login name, email and password sections there are now collapsed by default.
New feature: You can now log in and register with Google, in addition to Discord. Google can be connected or disconnected on the Account page.
The "Phantom Paladin" profession has been renamed to "Mythic Paladin".
Several skills were renamed to be closer to the original English terms: Animal Lore → Fauna Lore, Plant Lore → Flora Lore, Bowl Over → Tackling, Throw → Sweeps, Floor Acrobatics → Tumbling, Aerial Acrobatics → Acrobatics, Focus → Adrenal. Already-invested ranks carry over automatically on your next load/save.
The Rune Mage profession is now fully playable, including its base lists (Commanding Will, Inscriptions, Nomenclature Mastery, Physical Manipulations, Symbolism, Warding Ways).
The Warrior Mage profession is now fully playable, including its base lists (Combat Ways, Combat Illusions, Spell Defense, Warrior's Enhancements, Warrior's Weapons, Will of the Warrior).
The Mana Molder profession is now fully playable, including its base lists (Mana Barriers, Mana Items, Mana Molding, Mana Servants, Mana Warriors, Glyphs).
The per-rank cost now shows next to the group name instead of its own column, and skill name, "Bonus" and "Total" are now shown in bold.
Steam can now be connected to your account as an extra way to log in: connect it once under "Account", after that one click on "Log in with Steam" on the login page is enough.
New "Support" page (linked in the footer): it explains how to support the project — send feedback, share the site (copy the link or share it directly), contribute rule data and translations, and leave a voluntary tip via PayPal. Using the sheet stays free, and a tip buys nothing in return.
Logging in with Discord now returns you to the page that sent you to the login — an invite link to a round, for instance. It used to always drop you on the character list, while password and passkey login already kept the invite link.
Every Rolemaster page now lives under `/rolemaster` — landing page, character list, character sheet and rounds. Old bookmarks and invite links already sent out keep working and redirect to the new address automatically.
The floating "Used DP" badge in development mode can now be expanded: it lists every skill and skill group that got ranks added this session. Clicking an entry scrolls straight to its row in the table.
New feature: Any logged-in user can now create a group (a playing round), run it as its game master, and invite players by link to join with a character. If a character is edited in two places at once, nothing is lost any more — the sheet offers to pick up the other side's changes while keeping your own.
You can now change your account's email address under "Account" — the change only takes effect once you open the confirmation link sent to the new address. The old address receives a notification for security.
Every character in the list now has an edit button that opens its character sheet directly.
The overview page is laid out anew: a "My Characters" box with the character list at the top, and the box for creating a new character below it.
Characters that only live in your browser are now clearly marked in the character list and on the sheet — they disappear with your browser data and never show up on your other devices. Right next to the note you can create an account or download a backup.
Recovery rates are now rounded to whole points and are at least 1 per period.
The registration page now offers "Sign up with Discord" as an alternative to the form – until now the Discord route was only offered on the login page.
Better overview of your armour: the table now only lists the armour types selected for printing. A button below the table shows all remaining types and hides them again.
The change log now also records changes to the character's name and to the inventory – items added and removed, and changes to an item's name, description, location and weight.
New feature: The character sheet now has a print button that lays the sheet out ready for printing.
New feature: A "Feedback" link in the footer now lets you report bugs or send ideas – with or without an account.
Improvement: On mobile the header and footer now fit the screen properly – navigation is tucked into a menu button.
Registration, password reset and the feedback form now include a quick automatic bot check – no puzzle, just a tick.
New "Account" page (reachable via your login name in the top right): change your password, or permanently delete your account and all its character sheets.
New feature: Log in and register with Discord. An existing email/password account can also be
connected to (or disconnected from) Discord from the Account page.New feature: Forgot your password? You can now request a password reset link by email from the login page.
New feature: Register and log in with email, login name and password.
New feature: A passkey (e.g. fingerprint, face recognition, or a security key) can now be added in
the Account page. This allows logging in without a password, with a single click.New feature: Characters can now be saved to your account after logging in, instead of only in the browser, making them accessible from any device. A new button moves an existing local character into your account.
New feature: One button now rolls all missing potential attribute values at once.
The new character sheet is live — a complete rebuild succeeding the old version. Create a character, watch the sheet calculate live, add your own skills and to-dos, develop it in level-up mode and print it as a PDF — all in one sheet, in German or English, light or dark.
